That is a REALLY nice looking guitar. I bet I know where you bought it.
So pretty.I love how it aged into that yellowed blonde color. You are lucky to own it!!
Beautiful Guitar, Gotta love those slab-board necks ! I love my 62' esquire with slab-board
^^ very nice!!
My favorite Telecaster era at the moment.
I do prefer the look of a five hole white pickguard however. Has anyone seen an original blond 1959 Telecaster with a rosewood fretboard and an original 5 hole 1 ply pickguard? It would probably be mid 59, right? (if one exists)
I agree the 5-hole guards look better. I rarely notice but if I think about it...
I'll take the mid-'61 neck profile instead of the '59 neck profile any day, though!! More important than the guard holes.
Nice thing is, you can always put a 5 hole guard on an 8 hole guitar without drilling any holes.
Here's my CS '59 relic body with an Allparts vintage slab neck. 5 hole white guard installed. Crappy photo, but you get the idea. I was changing strings and swapping pickguards, so i took some cell phone pics.
that is, quite astunnishing !
come on man, how many figures did you plop down on it ?
One more pic with a friend, a 1962 Bandmaster Amp. These two get along great.
Here`s a 1959 on eBay. Scroll down for detailed pics.
Let me put it this way.
To die for!

I don't want to keep looking at that guitar! No, really, I don't. I might have to sell a child or something.
Beautiful couple there man !
5/51 body? Do you mean 5/61?
It's true you see far less tele's from this period, Fendr may have been pushing their newer models like the jazzmaster and slightly later the jaguar. Looks like a fine instrument, congrats
Believe it or not, the Tele was pretty expensive compared to what Fender was selling at the time. They had quite a few student models and they sold like hotcakes. Fender followed the easiest profit.
My 12/53 neck would look great with your tele '51 body.
