Beautiful! I am in the process of buying a 1960 blond slab board, like yours, but in a bit rougher condition!
    Enjoy it!

    It's easier with pictures!

The radius found between the maple and the rosewood on the veneer type fretboard (pictured to the right) as opposed to the slab type:

Beautiful Telecaster! Love the rosewood! I have a slab board tele too but it's not a Fender and it sure isn't from 1961. :D

Beauty--and a full neck. Some of those early 60's Tele's had smaller necks.
    Great guitar.

^^ yeah, definitely. It's a great, full '61 neck that's got some nice width as well.

That neck is such a pretty piece of maple.

    Great looking Tele!!!

I have a 60 Custom with a slab board that I just had the body restored because of a previous crappy refinish. Will post in another thread soon.

Absolutely love the grain on the front of the headstock!

Thanks, all - yeah, that grain on the front/back of the neck is a nice added feature! I really love the neck on this one, lots of real estate :)

What a stunner! Everything came together in the Fender factory that hazy summer day in 1961... I just love that cream against the rosewood... Neck grain is icing on the cake.

OK, I just saved the pic to a folder entitled "Favorite Guitars - Not Mine".

In case someone ever asks me "what do you really want?" I just hand 'em the whole folder, and smile sweetly...

A beautiful piece and thanks for the education on slab vs veneer. I done learnt me something else about Telecasters.
