Cherry red with white p/g looks good.
Simply amazing work and attention to detail!
I'd go for the white one!
I think so too. With gold hardware it will look sharp, I may make it slightly faded a little more red.
Thanks, I want to do a custom shop gibson kind. I have the standard v which is a standard les Paul and V mixed but I like the custom like this maybe.
Grace Potter plays an absolute beauty!.....mind she has a signature one too. Gratuitous Grace pic
I know you love making your own prototypes and then the real part is born from your super creative mind but for others who have a hardtime with the process check the link below
I have never seen the one that isn't her signature one, still not sure why she has a signature gibson but whatever. I will google pictures of her, thanks.
absolutely crazy parts is good and they send a small pack of mini gummy bears from haribo the original gummy bear company not a bad deal. I have a raised logo that I got from them that I was going to use originally on this but I am going to put it on a refinished 1984 Flying V that I am in the process of finishing. Some of the parts seem a bit expensive but accurate so I would totally use them. Thanks for letting everyone know they are a good resource.
Ios8 will still not upload multiple pictures yet so all my pictures will be on separate posts for a bit.
I managed to sand the center seam too close so the body pattern won't align properly and the best I can do ad a small bit at the tip. With the guitar being red you won't see it I feel if I were to shorten the ends it would look too stumpy. Here is how much is needed.
Here is the piece I tried to match the grain direction as best as I could.
I never completed my logo either it ended up being too large to fit where I wanted it.
Here is my original drawing to size. Again it is based on the font from patent for the Flying V.
Here you can see it is only slightly too long but just enough to not fit.
I wanted the logo to be as the gibson logo is with a beveled edge to it but that requires making two cuts and takes a lot of time and effort to make more than one I will see how flat stock looks it will be raised but not beveled and easier to make more than one. We will see I'm still not sure about that direction.
I attached the template.
Very close to the edge on this side.
And this side too.
Here is one of my favorite korina V players Dave Davies from the Kinks what a great band.
Also Albert King tearing it up!
I was messing with my iPhone and took a picture of the first V and the 1956 strat that I just finished in black and white nior setting.
