Nice job with the amp and the Power wagon.
John, I don't think the Dodge will ever be "finished" it is a constant work in progress.
The amp came with all vintage tubes but 1 power tube was missing so I used a set of JJ 6L6GC I had to test it out. I have a set of Sylvania 6L6GC I may put in there. Whenever I find a good buy on them I would like to replace the JJ's with a set of RCA's and replace the Philco 6SL7 with an RCA.
1 RCA 5U4(G it is glass)
1 Power tube missing
1 Sylvania 6L6GB
2 RCA 6SL7
1 PHILCO 6SL7
It looks like the same pen that wrote the SN 1819 also was used to change the 6SC7 to 6SL7 noting the choice of higher gain preamp tubes.
6SN7 has an amplification factor of 20
6SC7 has an amplification factor of 60
6SL7 has an amplification factor of 70
Nice find Mike and very cool amps. I have a 58 narrow pannel pro. Maybe one day I'll get to try a TV front Pro, just to see the difference.
Some things go together...
Good lookin' couple.
Man that thing is gorgeous! As I recall, that's the one which was a wreck on CL. Thought about snagging it, but not being an amp tech, it would have been a total money pit for me. Plus, my wife strangely prefers a roof to a tent over her head.
