Thanks Boomhauer, good to know. I tried to hurry one along once by pointing halogen work light at it and it blistered up so....

Thank you Lord for this new opportunity to learn patience yet again.

Saw this in the guitar store and had a GAS attack and only 4000$us

Question... Same board for both, same piece of sticker paper, done at same time, and the 'Capron has a halo around it and the other does't.

    Why?

Painted some honey lacquer on my neck this weekend. This is as close as I'm getting to a relic. Now the flame pops good.

This Honey Amber TransTint in some Watco gloss lacquer. To much and it gets orange but a tiny bit of Tobbaco Mixol helps.

Got to keep the build up off the paper. Then more blocking.

Thank you Oldrebel, I think the black binding on the neck with the black guard is gonna look the cats meow.

Pardon the dumb questions, but is it cheap and easy to get mahogany on Oahu? Does it grow on the island?

Dumb questions are funner, and Ive seen a mahogany tree here but more common choices here would be monkeypod, Mango, and Koa. All very heavy. Not a lot of lumber milling out here.

Everything is expensive out here, my mahogany came from a job site. It was giant trim/finish in a very expensive house. They spent a lot of money to ship it in, and I had to work a deal for the scraps. There is going to be some more mahogany guitars to build in my future, and I'm excited and want to do a neck thru ( one is a big piece ).

    Thanks Boomhauer
