Tomorrow night...actually Tuesday morning...there will be a total LUNAR ECLIPSE visible over most of North America.

    Here are some reference sources:

    Wikipedia

    NASA

    Time & Date.com

    Good luck with the weather.

Looks like snow and clouds here.

Hope to see some photos from some of you.

kewl...I recall seeing a near total eclipse in Spain as a young un. It was around 72-73 ish...

It was cool and scary (for a kid) at the same time. I watch them every chance I get!

I haven't seen one for a long time. I'll try to catch the one tomorrow.

Lunar eclipse on the winter solstice. The UFO hiding under Stonehenge is going to
    re-activate.

Hey, thanks for the head's up! I wouldn't have known about this otherwise. Maybe I'll set up the tripod and try and get a few pics if the weather clears in time.

Clear sky and a huge moon here. Should get a great view of it in the next couple of hours.

Should be visible from 6.30am onwards with totallity at around 7.40am apparently.Look North west...however the moon will be very low on the horizon at totallity and will be best visible up north and in Scottyland.

I was thinking about taking my 61 princeton/76 DR rig out back and playing the theme from 2001 during the eclipse. I could even mike that rig to a couple SRM 450s and let the whole neighborhood have a soundtrack to this celestial event. Ya'll don't think they'd mind, do you? I did this on the 4th a couple of years ago and no cops showed up. Of course that was in the afternoon. I think the eclipse starts just as the bars close.

Been raining here and supposed to continue through the week, so no eclipse for us in SoCal. Well, there will be one, we just won't be able to see it, unless it clears up briefly at just the right time.

If you're gonna do that, you have to play The Star Spangled Banner. I didn't write the law, but it's still a law. ;)

Free until Dec 21st - SkySafari Lite iPod/iPad/iPhone app, to track the eclipse and more.

I don't have an app device, and the current snow storm is expected to be continuous for a few days, so I'll probably sleep through it, or watch a monster movie with a moon in it.:(
