Miss Andersen brought the Rose Garden and a four piece string section.

It was a darn good show!

She's married to Mentor Williams, who wrote amongst others, a little song called Drift Away...

Haven't heard much of her lately.

She flat out smoked the two songs she did.

Also gave several shoutouts to the Fabulous Superlatives collectively and individually.

You could tell she was having a good time.

Should probably also mention that Marty had every member of the string section decked out in Sparkle coats.

It was sort of odd seeing him with a guitar other than "Clarence."

Rumor has it that we will see more guitar change-ups before the season is over.

In one of the previews, Kenny Vaughan can be seen playing a Paisley. There is probably a story there!

    ;)

and her mother, Liz Anderson, wrote Merle Haggard's first top 10 hit "All My Friends Are Gonna Be Strangers".

She's been doing western shows, cowboy festivals, & equine events (like any good North Dakota girl), then about 6 years ago she did a bluegrass album and even got nominated for a GRAMMY with it.

Anyone else notice there were two electric guitar parts and two acoustic guitar parts playing on "Rose Garden", yet Kenny was the only electric on stage and Marty was the lone acoustic. Must have been a little magic in the mixing room after the taping.

Caught the two guitars. Or did Kenny just forget to fake the part the first time around? I thought the show was performed all live, do they overdub or use backing tracks? Love the show, love that Esquire and can't say enough good things about Connie and the band. Still can't get into LeRoy Troy, I've tried but it's not going to happen. Hope his album does well for him though. They'll probably sell like hotcakes......a dollar a stack. Didn't Liz Anderson also write The Fugitive? Or at least a co-writer.

Yes she did write, "(I'm a Lonesome) Fugitive", Merle's first number one hit, he named his band after the "(My Friends Are Gonna Be) Strangers" song.

BTW I'm a big Leroy Troy fan and get to do sound for him, at a couple of festivals, this summer.

The day I was there everything was done live.

One thing I did notice was that Marty's Esquire was tuned down a fret.

In the first part of Rose Garden there are some electric guitar parts that are happening that Kenny is clearly not playing. Marty is playing his acoustic. At the front of the show Eddy Stubbs only gives credit to five people besides Lynn. So where did the "mystery guitar" come from? It's a great show and I don't mean to get so critical, but just wondering. Maybe I'm the only one out there that doesn't get the Leroy Troy thing, it's nothing personal against him. I just wish they would use his slot now and then to let the band cut loose. That's a bunch of pretty talented guys Marty has behind him.

How about Gary Carter on the PSG?

The five people mentioned by Stubbs were the string section and piano.

I consider Gary to be a part of the show. He's there every week. The five that I'm referring to would be the string section(4) and the piano player. That still leaves the question, if it makes a difference or anybody cares, who played the "mystery" guitar part. Would Gary play the part the first time through and let Kenny play it the second time through? When you hear it it doesn't sound like a steel to me, but maybe it is. I still enjoy the show and a huge Marty Stuart show fan.
