Does anybody have a copy of the book, "The Fender Telecaster - The Life & Times Of The Electric Guitar That Changed The World"?

If so...what are/were your opinions of it? I only learned of it today and would like to know more 'bout it....

It's one of those Telecaster books that I do not yet have (I have half a dozen dedicated to the Telecaster exclusively, and several others on Fender in general), but from what I'm able to find out it's absolutely worth having. The pics look to be "Tele porn", but I can't say to much about the historical or techniqual accuracy. Besides, you will need more than one Telecaster book to cover everything. I probably will have to buy a copy though.

It's got nice pictures, and a bunch of short bios from a lot of Tele players of note. I'd say half is history and half is bios, but it's written by Dave Hunter - a knowledgable guy who writes about the guitar a lot. If you can get past some typos, it's well worth buying. My son likes staring at it every chance he gets.

Thanks, fellas! Amazon has it for pretty cheap so I might see if I can swing it. It's got a section on the Red Paisley (that's the books words, not mine) Tele that James Burton and Brad Paisley are so well-known for playing so...that's one thing that caught my eye very quickly.

    Again....thanks for the recommendations. :)

It's one of those coffee table books, with some good writing, and tonnes of Tele porn. Well worth the £20 I paid for it Imo - you won't be disappointed.

I think you have nailed it for me. LOL! There's a couple of books about the Custom Shop that I want for my collection as well.

I've got one book on the Fender Custom Shop called Dream Factory. That's a really nice book. My wife got me it back in 2010 for Christmas. I don't know how much it retails for, but you I reckon you'd love it.

Yep, I saw that one on Amazon and immediately wanted it so I have a feeling I definitely would love it!! I'm a voracious reader and I love to look at pictures. However, in light of my saving up to have an AllParts Paisley Tele built, I'm gonna have to hold off on the purchase.

Just to make sure, it's The Dream Factory: Fender Custom Shop: Tom Wheeler: 9781423436980: Amazon.com: Books@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51PgZIVq0iL.@@AMEPARAM@@51PgZIVq0iL one you're referring to...correct?

It's excellent. Great pics; details on the hardware/electronics changes; info and pics of famous Teles; info on the Fender business.

It's well written, educational Tele porn.

Tele porn for sure. Texts seem less consistents than Duchossoir, but actually, I didn't finish it so far. At least it's not like those hundreds about Fender by Tony Bacon, with just the cover changing. It's worth getting it.

I really want to get the book, but I have only found it on Amazon. And frankly, their shipping rates are a PITA.Does anyone know where else an international customer can purchase one of these?

Also, how severe are the grammatical and spelling errors in the book? I'm a writer by trade, and typos just jump at me. I stop reading books immediately when they pop up more than a few times.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance!
