    Hi guys! I'm new here.
I'm from Argentina, so I may have some trouble with english,
but I think I can handle it! :p

    Here's the deal.
    I was offered this Tele:

    148989_419590094717696_1137691567_n.jpg

The guy who solds, says that this is a 2007/2008 60th Anniversary Telecaster.
    Could this be true?
I haven't seen any 60th anniversary tele in natural with the white pickguard.

    Hope you can help!
    Cheers.

Its definitely a real Fender but is a 2006 with that badge on the back of the headstock, there will also be a serial number there as well beginning with Z, ask the seller for the serial. The number after the Z indicates the year.

Normally with that 60th Anniversary logo on the back of the headstock it is a 2006 but you can tell by the serial number. It should start with a Z6 or Z7 which would make it a 2006 or 2007.

Most models in 2006 had that little logo button on the headstock. Didn't matter which type of tele. (My MIM doesn't though)

Yes, it's just an American Standard from 2006. Every Fender got that little button in that year to denote Fender's (not the Telecaster's) 60th anniversary. It's not a special model of Tele.

It looks like it's in good condition though, so it would be a $600-$650 (or so) guitar here in the USA.

Its an American Standard. But its also a beautiful guitar, depending on how much the seller is asking, I would jump on it.

Wish my keyboard had that upside down question mark. One of the best things about Spanish.

You've been of great help guys!
It's great to find a real forum.

I will ask for the serial number.
Where should it be? On the neckplate?

Besides that, what can you say about 2006 American Standard Telecasters?
This one is potentially my first USA made guitar.

The serial number should be on the back of the headstock.

Technically the 2006 model was called the "American Series" instead of the "American Standard" - Fender had renamed them for the version that ran from mid-2000 through the end of 2007.

I've never heard anything bad about them; that one has a particularly nicely grained body. It's a good, solid guitar. I briefly had a 2007 model that came to me in a trade deal; it was a nice guitar but at that time (2008) I wasn't really into Teles and only had it around briefly to mess around with open G tuning (like Keith Richards) and wound up flipping it to get another Strat.

Yes, they're nice guitars and that one looks like a very attractive one.

They are a more "modern" take on a Tele with their 6-saddle bridge and hotter-than-vintage pickups and 9.5" radius fretboard, but very nice just the same.

Like this ¿ ? The keystroke is ALT+0191.

The utility is called Character Map. Should be within your start menu. Or else Start-->Run-->charmap.

    Have fun.

    Thank you guys!

I must pay us$1500 for this one.
Yeah, for you it must be ridiculous money, but things are really messed up here in Argentina...

An average AV62 stands around us$2600, it's too much for me!

That is silly money, and worth your while investigating importing one.

An AmStd runs to about UKP £800 here, new. (USD $1300)

I know man... The thing is... Importing to Argentina has been almost impossible! We can't buy foreign currency.
Even if I had these us$1300, importers would smack me by increasing or even duplicating the price!
Anyway, I can't get my dolars out of the country, "state policy".

So! You can see that I don't have many options haha XD. We are really fckd up.

    Absolutely sucks.
That's why I have to be especially careful when looking for some gear.
Do you believe that this American Series worths the risk?
Or should I keep raising some funds and go for a new American Standard?

It definitely looks like a nice guitar. If this one is $1500, how much is a new one?

My 2011 Am Standard has a neck plate that says 60 years. Quite confusing.
