I believe you! I remember drooling at the pictures you posted on this very forum after having it refinished (Single ply white PG, Dakota Red nitro finish, wasnt'it?). Since then, I've regularly considered to do the same to my AV52RI, but I like the BSB too... I guess I'll have to save for a little while, and buy another one in order to do this.
    Surfgreen is nice too!

I've gotta be honest, my first thought was "why refin an avri??" second thought "surf green... yuck!!!"... I had a sonic blue guitar once and it just turned me off to the lighter shades of blue and green.... Then I clicked your links... and WOW that guitar looks fanfrickintastic!!!!... It's really changed my opinion of surf green, and honestly it looks better to me than any bsb 52 I've ever seen, and I like bsb... That blackguard sets it off, I wouldn't change a thing on that beauty... I'm just in awe of it... Great job!

Looks great. What year is that AVRI? Just wondering why it is chipping?

Keep the black pick guard. I have a Seafoam Green Tele and no matter what
light condition exists photos always make it look blue

That color looks great with the black guard. 100x better than it looks with a white guard.

Did you go down to the bare wood, or did you leave the factory sealer coat?

What happened on the edge? Looks like you are already missing some paint. Did you do this refin a while ago?

@ jaredpurdy: It is a 2001 AVRI. I bought it used and it already had some chips.
@esquireok: I got down to bare wood. I reliced it a bit...so the "armwear" is artificial...but it had it before, so added it to match the neck with its playwear...

Awesome, as is. But...definitely white or, better yet, anodized gold p'guard. WD Music has 'em.
