Pros: Loud, well made, probably sounds great in the right amp.
Cons: Doesn't sound good with Fender Deluxe Reverb

I got this after hearing that the Weber Blue Dog might be their best speaker with all amps. It's a British-Style speaker roughly patterned on a Celestion Blue, although at 50 Ceramic Watts, it's getting pretty far away from the archetype.

I put it in my Deluxe and I don't love it. It's got a lot of bass, unexpectedly scooped mids and the extended treble sounds a little harsh with the Deluxe. I've heard of people having good luck with these in Hot Rod Deluxes though. This speaker has a ton of bass-sometimes I keep the bass knob on 0. It would brobably help out a bass-shy Marshall or Vox considerably. It's a speaker in search of an amp right now - I have it in my beater Ampeg (same EQ issues as Deluxe) until I get a more appropriate amp - I hope to get a Marshall someday.

It is loud and well built, however.

Pros: sound and price
Cons:

I use a thirty watt blue dog in my 5E3 (tweed deluxe-18W) version from Mission Amps. I love the speaker-has a nice bite and great harmonics-round yet with a real bite using the bright channel. sounds better as it breaks in-the nature of the stock 5E3 circuit does make it a bit bassy with humbuckers on my Les Pauls-but I get great Billy Gibbons sound using this speaker-and with a tele-its perfect-grindy roadhouse. great with a strat too. very defined even when browned with overdrive.

I a/b'd my amp with the stock Victoria version with a Jenson and theres no comparison -the Jenson just sounded thin and weak mono dimensinal and cheap. These are great speakers for the price-the only better is the blue celestion alnico-at more than twice the price.

so far no problems and Im running it full tilt whenever i play. id highly recommend for a good tweed sound.
