1969 Reissue Thinline Telecaster. I bought this guitar new in 1999. Mine is the 3 tone sunburst(an extra $60) with the perloid pickguard, classic tele single coil/lipstick setup. Maple neck with medium frets. Schaller style vintage tuners.
Intially i wasn't impressed by this guitar after purchase due to the sloppy glue around the F-hole and horrible neck setup, however after a little clean up and a professional neck setup, i'm floored by it. The overall quality is very good. Other than the sloppy glue, there are no finish flaws at all. The electronics seem durable. The pickups do give some noise, which is to be expected from this type of pickup configuration. The blade switch is a bit noisy on switching and i suspect it won't survive too long. I've had the guitar 4 years and never had a problem though. I'm not rough on my guitars and use them just for studio work, so gigging may produce different results. Overall I am very impressed by the feel and sound of this guitar. I've heard complaints about the stock pickups, however I suppose I may be deaf, but they sound great to me. Thumbs up, I gave it a 'great' instead of 'excellent' because it's not a $2000 professional guitar, let's reserve truley remarkable ratings for those. For the money, it's excellent.
