Pros: Early breakup and smooth and musical
Cons: Above 435 plate volts some amps may redplate these .

The tube store reviews speaks of smooth breakup earlier than any others and more musical than others when pushed.

Theres not a better description IMHO.

My rebel 20 and 30 heads run these excelent, together with the RI Mullard el84 pair it just has a great vibe going pushed,or not.

I enjoy using a attenuator for low volume breakup.

Tubes get hot and have done well, not a steril sound in these tubes.

I run 372 plate volts and bias at 45vdc but the Tungsol may be run lower at 40vdc per pair because there a slightly lower watt tube, good does not equate too loud most times.

I havent heard of any problems without very high plate voltage being applied.

The Mullard RI have the best el84 tone an breakup ive heard in that family of currently produced tubes.

Another excelent tube new sensor has designed,we run 20 volts higher than the amps and tubes were designed for now in modern times.

I would ask for a high Ip rated tube, which is its natural milliamp draw on the tungsol 6v6gt tubes.

29-33 milliamp per tube is good, 23ma might give you trouble imop.
