Pros: Jensen speaker gives great vintage sound. Real spring reverb.
Cons: Considerable loss of bottom end as gain increases. Jensen increases high end when compared with stock Blues Junior speaker - single coil tele players roll back tone dial!

Great amp to suit blues, country, rock and jazz. Rolling back the mids gives a nice country twang and cranking up the reverb gives a classic James Bond sound! The Blues Junior III has a sparkle mod so with the added Jensen the sound is really bright. However, it is easy to tame by simply pulling back the treble a little. All dials are from 1 to 12. Very versatile and loud enough to gig. However, if your guitar is the leading instrument of your group consider mic'ing for more head room. I'm the lead guitarist of a covers band and I play everything from Roy Orbison, The Seachers, Elvis, Beatles, Frank Sinatra to The Killers, Kings Of Leon and it handles all styles well with just an added delay pedal for the slap back stuff. It's put through it's paces at 3 gigs a week, anywhere from small clubs/pubs to large halls (when mic'd) and does very well. Highly recommended to players who care for tone and not lots of built in effects! It responds well to pick dynamics and is great for clean guitar players or players who like subtle or vintage 'tweed sounding' overdrive i.e. 59 bassman-like characteristics.
