Description: This is another outstanding DVD from honkytonker Terry Downs (a TDPRI member.)

It has that wonderful "birdseye view" which is a camera shot over the left shoulder of the right handed guitar teacher. It is really helpful.

Lots of great instruction and helpful hints about pedal steel licks and the theory behind the honkytonk. It really picks up where "The Guitar Styles of Roy Nichols" left off.

It mostly works out solos to famous country guitar solos, but it does it in a way that is helpful to see many techniques and licks.

Pros: thorough!
Cons: does not have 5000 songs! Ha Ha!

Terry has a very thoughtful methodology and his interest appears to be that you actually learn the tune! His camera angles are the best in the genre and his instructions are calm and clear. His choices of songs was well thought out and based on experience playing in honky tonks. Very impressed. I work on a song a month, so this video is still helping me! thanks Terry. Bring on the Don Rich Video then the Gene Moles Video!
