This is my first review, so keep that in mind...
"Electric Country Blues" is a two DVD set by Jim Weider, who succeeded Robbie Robertson in "The Band" and also played with Bob Dylan, Roy Buchanan, Paul Butterfield, Crosby, Stills, & Nash and lots of other famous acts mostly from the 70's and beyond.
He describes his style as a cross between traditional Texas Blues and Delta Blues on electric guitar - "electric country blues." I like to think of it as some of the ingredients in the early Memphis rock "n" roll Sun Records type sound. Jim has several other videos, all of which are excellent in my opinion. I also really enjoy an old video of his called "Get That Classic Fender Sound" which demos lots of vintage Fender guitars and amps and even old studio echoplexes and stuff.
This is a video by an outstanding professional guitarist who is not really a professional teacher. The video is meant for intermediate to advanced players and it really isn't for beginners. Lots of viewers may not like that. I think I learned some new licks and new approaches and it happens to be a Tele style that I personally enjoy. However, at $50 or more, it may not be for everybody.
