4 channels with 3 modes each, that's a lot of tone!! Plus the option to use either 6L6's or EL34's on each channel or use both!! You can also choose which channel you want to go to what cabinet (if you have more than one cab). There's also 2 FX loops (1 serial, 1 parallel). All of which is footswitchable by the King Kontroler. There's also a nice solo boost feature.
* Channel 1 is the cleanest channel, with selections like Clean, Tweed, and Fat. Clean is basic Boogie clean, Tweed is hauntingly like a Deluxe and Fat is perfect for Jazz tones.
* Channel 2 picks up where channel 1 leaves off with Clean, Fat and Brit. Clean is still clean but can get a bit of bite out of it, Fat is still fat but can get more bite, and the Brit mode is like an early Marshall!! Not high gain by any means, but with hot pickups it can get pretty raunchy for classic rock.... put a tubescreamer in front of it and you got a great med-high gain sound. I run this on EL34's in the Brit mode. If you back off the trebble a little and use a tele, you can get some nice Dr. Z (ala Brad Paisley) tones from this thing.
* Channel 3 and 4 have the same modes > Raw, Vintage and Modern. Raw is more JCM800-ish if you run EL34's, Modern is pretty high gain and somewhat scooped, Vintage is a great mix of the two!! Vintage is high gain, but not too scooped with a nice throaty mid range tone to it that is perfect for nice smooth leads. Channel 4 is the same as channel 3 but with a more scooped out sound on all modes.
Before I got this amp, I went through almost 20 different amps in 3 years searching for the "holy grail" of amps, this may not be it but it's pretty close! I've tried solid state, modeling, racks, stacks and combos (tube and non-tube) and this has what I want and need. The only 2 draw backs to this amp is the price: $2800 new ($2000 used) and the weight of the combo is 125 pounds!!! That's alot of money and weight, but it's worth every penny for the versitility I get with it in my band. We play 80s, 90s, and modern rock and country (about a 70/30 mix).

You do get what you pay for here!! I think it's worth every penny and I would definately get another one if anything happened to it. I can get anywhere from Deluxe tones and Brad Paisley tones all the way up to AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Creed, Nickelback, and Metallica tones all at the step of a button or flip of a switch. This amp is a creature that reacts different to different guitars, it can be an all out Metal amp with my Wolfgang or a 100% country sounding amp with my teles and everywhere in between.
Cost thousands, worth Millions!
I won't give any amp a 10, but this is a strong 9.75!! I'd love to hear a series II.
