Pros: I really like the Alnico II in the bridge.....
Cons: I agree, the Neck is underpowered...

Another option is to use the RWRP middle pickup from their Strat set. Jerry Donahue does that, and it balances nicely...

I play mostly on the bridge pickup with this set and it sounds fantastic in that application.

Also highly recommended are the Five-Two set. I love them, but still have my Alnico II Pros around for a project.

Pros: Alnico II in the bridge of a tele = perfection
Cons: None!

I bought this Bridge pickup to go in my 50's esquire. Best thing I ever did!

i found the stock pickups a bit toneless and cheap sounding, so i went searching for a decent replacement. after reading several reviews and trying a few out i stuck with the SD Alnico 2, i picked it over Fender Texas specials, the Fender Nocaster set and the seymour duncan antiquity 2 for tele all of which are more expensive.

It produces a very natural sounding twang, gives you loads of headroom for your clean and when pushed overdrives to perfection giving you a warm sweet tone. it has a brass earth plate and cotton puch-back cable for that vintage quallity and look, I think it is the best replacement bridge pickup for any telecaster that plays the blues or a bit of rock or..well anything
