If it's the original 808 tone you're after, the TS9 mini sounds identical to the big TS808 reissues.
It oddly sounds more like an 808 than a TS9...
I actually own the TS808 reissue and I prefer the standard ts9. It's smoother and has more bass or something.

Rig dependent pedals. TS9 works best with scooped amp low output pickup setups.
BD-2 is at home into a thick chunky mid flavored amp.
Tape off the pickups. Do whatever you want with the frets.
Get a straight edge. Flatten the neck the best you can by eye.
Get some 240 grit...
