You obviously do not know how much I paid on taxes in the USA.... simply because I am a highly skilled and educated person in high technology "stuff" and I worked for the US company in Europe for more than 10 years BEFORE I was asked to immigrate! I guess they thought I was worth the effort and the cost.

That was then , this is now.... And now we have a problem where people's want to move FROM THEIR COUNTRIES, leaving everything behind., They do not want to rebuild. That is too difficult.

What you mean that was then? You are here now, only due to American welfare and generosity. I do not think poorly of these immigrants, so I am not insulting you by thinking you are no different from them. Unlucky to not be natural born here but fortunate through American handouts and generosity.

My family would have paid less taxes if the didn’t pay for Marshall plan European welfare package. So really, you cost me my money but I’m not complaining. That effects me even now because that money maybe invested in the stock market would be worth a lot.

Go to Europe and see what is happening there... HOW MANY countries have you visited in your life?
I am trying to tell you that there are reasons why we need CONTROL and open borders certainly is not the right way. You owe it to yourself and your family to really learn about these things.

Since the USA under Reagan destabilized Central America, we owe them entry more than we owe Europeans entry. After WW2 We rebuilt Europe with the Marshall plan. Europe got a lot of American welfare so it would not turn into Central America. You benefited greatly from that American welfare, growing up there, whether you admit it or not. We did not rebuild Central America.

You think these people are taking your money? Your parents would be murdered by Nazis or would be living in ruins, you maybe not even born if it were not for the American taxpayer paying welfare to rebuild the Europe from ashes and dictators. You would not exist without American taxpayer generosity that was free handouts.

How do you think Europe went from WW2 ashes to a place where you get an education that an American company would want? Your family pay to rebuild Europe themselves? No. American welfare. Europe would be Central American poor and violent failed nation states without being given free American money. You would be back there trying to get out of the crime and poverty but nobody wants you. That or maybe you never exist.

So what would you say if these " unwanted" AKA illegal folks would just put their belongings on the floor in your house, and DEMAND you support them., take your kid's space in schools , hospitals and libraries. That's kind of what they are doing . Do you agree?
What would you say if these people would decide to pull your kitchen cabinet doors off the walls and house chickens in those cabinets?

Just do some reading on the statistics of the general life and conditions in California and you will see what a mess we have been put into.

I understand your point of view, but must tell you that many people think money should be spent 30, 40 years ago until now training American born workers to do American jobs. There is no job that you can do or I can do that an American can’t be trained to do. I am happy you are here and that you prospered but not everyone is happy about immigrants. Three generations ago my Italian ancestors were treated as filth.

When I came to the USA... California is specific... this truly was the Golden State... 30 years later. This is the armpit of the USA. And you don't think that 13 million illegals, illiterate, no education , no skills people have anything to do with this... combines with the unbelievable audacity by the Cal government to give my money away on programs that just don't make sense... can not work and will not work??

As you can see. some people are even MORE restrictive in their outlook... But... you can not have it both ways. If you want skills you need to improve the education system in the USA. Until then... you better be prepared to SELECTIVELY HIRE folks from other countries and that is what the Immigration system is set to do. Not a free for all.. not a grab fest.. not a free lunch..

I agree you can’t have it both ways, which is why I point out that while you think these people don’t deserve to be here, the same is being thought about you by people who were born here and who blame immigrants for our country’s problems. It cuts both ways for a person like you.

Remember... it's not what you see... it's what you not see!! Ponder on that for a moment and try each and every problem to solve with this..
Typically, what you don't see is who is asking you, who is benefiting , where is the money going. Simple questions with impossible answers in this political climate because they are hidden for you and me.

      Cheers

I understand your point. The government tracks cost but has no means to track the benefit because small business owners do not report how much money they saved by breaking immigration law. But know that as a consumer, you pay much less for food because if farm labor from illegal aliens. When you eat at a restaurant you pay less because the dishwasher is paid less. House construction cost less to you.

One other thing. While I do not feel this way, there are many in this country that think people like you should not be here and that we should be training and hiring natural born American citizens. They think you steal jobs and pervert American customs with your own customs. I think it is wrong to feel that way, but I feel this prejudice is no different than what you are expressing about Mexicans.

Be careful about who you think does not belong here -many people see no difference between you and an illegal if you have a better job than a natural born citizen. They think you don’t belong here no matter what test you take about George Washington or how long you wait and fill paperwork . When you say look after American citizens first, many people don’t think that means you. It is wrong of course.

While it is commendable to look after people that are disfranchised.... perhaps a better use of YOUR and MY money to look after American Citizens FIRST, create a very profitable and capitalistic society so there is some money left to support others. Margaret Thatcher summed it up perfectly... some day the politicians will have spent all your money... what then??

      I
Analysis have shown that illegals cost the country approx 200 BILLION per year in support cost that can NOT be recuperate. I am stating the COST to you and me after whatever contribution those folks made. These are Government numbers... not political numbers create by people that are pulling the wool over your eyes AND ears. I can send you links to those calculations.

I migrated to the USA 40 years ago. I worked for an American company in Europe for 10 years, I got sponsored because I had the skills and had proven that my contribution was worth it to the company. It then took 3 years to get my Green card. I followed the system and the process. I expect everyone else to run through the same process.. not break the rules and disfranchise others by doing so.

Just a question for you. Do you support open borders soo millions can just walk across and become a burden to all of us...as you are telling the forum folks that there are people living in the USA that are basically to poor to exist. I am just curious and that is why I am not POSTING that question. Cheers

I can only speak from my own experience working 17 years trauma center in the Bronx. Undocumented immigrants are a benefit not a liability. Small business owners pay substandard wages and no benefits. That helps small business owners make more profit. They work twice as hard and complain half as much as Americans. Seriously.

This nonsense about immigrants being a burden is propeganda, coming from a bunch of billionaires who just gave themselves a trillion dollar tax break- on credit no less- and want you to focus your anger on Mexicans instead of being angry about their insatiable greed.
