Larry Norman- Father of Christian Rock Passed away
Larry Norman, one of the first Christian Rock artists has passed away. Larry went home Sunday. He had been in failing health for years with severe heart problems.
I saw Larry many many times in concert back in the 70's and he was always a great witness. He will be greatly missed by those of us who were lucky enough to have had him be a part of our lives, be it in person or thru his music. Go rest high on the mountain Larry! |

Johnny:
Thank you for sharing this news. Larry lived a mile from me and had asked me a few years ago if I'd like to record with him. Too busy, I guess. Boy do I regret that now. He sang it the way he believed it, with integrity, never willing to sell out to the commercial side of CCM. I always respected Larry for that. I'll never forget the last time we had a nice long talk and he introduced his sweet mom to me. A real pleasure. Since December, I've lost 3 Christian musician friends or acquaintances due to heart attacks: Roby Duke, Steve LiaBraaten and now Larry...all my age!

I played "The Outlaw" at today's gig. Most people thought is was a nice song, but some were crying. Like me.
Blessings on ya, Bro. Larry!
