New band, upcoming gig

I talked about it over in the Bad Dog Cafe, and wanted to list it over here too.

I'm now in an all new band that aint really new: Our Praise and Worship Team that has been together for 6 years now, has stepped up to the next level, and while were still the FLCC P&W Team, were also going outside our church walls. Were going to be playing at some coffee shops, other churches, and a club or two, as well as doing some prison ministry (talk about a captive audience, huh. Boy that was a bad joke.....).

Our first gig is inked. It'll be at Downey Calvary Chapel Cafe on May 9th at 8:00pm. 2 hour set, with a half hour break in between.

Looks like we'll get a few more gigs before then, but this is the first one thats penned in.

Oh yeah, we get to play our hearts out!

Were probably gonna do songs like:

Sweetly Broken
Indescribable
Forever (Great is your Faithfulness)
Grace Like Rain
Consuming Fire
Trust in You
I'll wait for the Lord (my soul waits)
This is Our God
Famous one
Mountains Tremble
From the Inside Out
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Nothing but the Blood (Your blood speaks a better word)

And a few originals, and more covers as well.

You and your band are in the same position that mine is in now. While we are primarily the worship band at our church we have started getting out doing the coffee house thing and we are playing at a festival this spring. We probably won't be playing much of what you would call worship music at our gigs but we'll do a lot of our original stuff, Jars of Clay, Waterdeep, Needtobreathe, and some secular stuff as well.

If you get tickets through us, it'll cost you 7 dollars. At the door, it will cost 8 bucks.

This will be another free gig, and again, we'll be playing for about two hours.

If you show up at any of the gigs, please come up and introduce yourself, I'd love to meet you!

sounds like good times! my band, MOTEL EARTH has been doing the music ministry thing in coffee houses, fairs, etc. for 17 years. haven't made much money but the Lord blesses us richly! all our stuff is original and we like to refer to it as EVANG-O-ROCK. check us out on MySpace, we have some live tracks there.

I hope your ministry is blessed!
