Can't resist a few words from the UK!

All Who Are Thirsty - Brenton Brown & Glenn Robertson (one of my all time favourites - I use a kind of Claptonish sound for the fill-ins & solo, moderate overdrive on the neck pickup, but I can hardly play for tears sometimes anyway)

At The Cross - Randy & Terry Butler (lovely to play with different inversions on acoustic & electric)

Oh Lord Hear My Prayer - Taize (this can go on and on building if the Spirit takes over... don't know how it happens, but 2 guitars & bass end up sounding like some kind of pipe organ)

Amazing Grace (we do a really nice sort of Lightnin Hopkins version, if you can imagine that )

One we just learned, The Cross Has Said It All - Matt Redman & Martin (Delirious?) Smith, which we do in a kind of a Bob Marley style, really fun to play with the cross-rhythms between two guitars.

Let My Words Be Few - Matt & Beth Redman (about the most haunting P&W tune I know)

He Is Yahweh - Dean Salyn (must be the most difficult song I know - kind of a Ray Phiri touch needed on guitar - just try to follow that man! Arrgh!)

Sorry for slow reply, Strativarius!

I've been v busy with church stuff. No, Yahweh is the Hebrew name for God - the old translations often have 'Jehovah' but it's the same word. In Hebrew you don't have vowels as such, so what you get is something like YHWH, and you have to fill in the vowel sounds as best you can... Most translations simply put The LORD (usually in capital letters), but if you look at a passage, say Psalm 23:1, where the NIV would put 'The LORD is my Shepherd' you'll find the Word English Bible puts 'Yahweh is my Shepherd'

What the freemasons call God I don't know. Do they? :?

Amazing Love

I'm with Cheesecaster - Amazing Love (You are my King) is an amazing song. It's one of those that can be played in a mid-tempo rocker OR a slow, worshipful style. I absolutely love it right now.

Yahweh is one of God's many names. Tree63 uses it in one of their songs.

Word of God speak is a beautiful worship song. I kinda feel blah playing it on guitar in the key of
C, which is a great piano key. I think it sounds good on guitar if played D to Gadd2.

Let it Rain is also very powerful .

I've played this song both on guitar and keyboard (both in C). The keyboard version is much easier to flow with for sure. When I did it on guitar (12 string), I let His spirit drive me and fill my lungs. The result was that nobody even noticed I was playing a guitar.

I LOVE all the songs you've listed. There are only a couple on your list that we have not done. I think our tastes are similar. I will need to evaluate doing some of those others songs for our P&W band.

"Let the River Flow"

I am trying to learn it and still it has me stumped trying from memory,I can find most anything if I have a recording but am stumped for the Bsus and the F#m7 chords.I play Sweet Chariot and Amazing Grace ,have played them at funerals and am trying to learn How Great Thou Art.

I know it's a cliche' but

I love Shout To The Lord. That song never fails to lift my spirit. I think it will stand alongside all the great hymns of the church.

What's going on down in Austrailia? You've got Darlene and Hillsong, Matt Redmond and Mudbrick Music all making great, Christ centered music.

I had the pleasure of playing with Jay and Helena McNeil of Mudbrick last year and their song, One Name is probably my second favorite song. I've never heard it outside our church so here it is.

One Name

F Gm7
Every morning Every day

F Gm7
There is one name I will proclaim

Bd,Am7,Gm7 Bd Dm Csus,C
And He is always near his mercy follows me

Chorus

F Gm7 Bd
There is one name that I will call

Csus, C
The name of Jesus

Am7 Bd Dm
No other name can fill my soul

Csus,C
with such sweetness

F Gm Bd
There's just one name that save's us all

F Bd F Gm C.... build it, the drummer kicks it
Jesus Jesus

F!Repeat the chorus!

Think Jesus, Curtis Mayfield, and Al Green in that order and it works every time.

Well it looked good when I wrote it but I can't get the spacing on the chords worked out

Geno, do you have a capo ? nothing wrong with using one and makes chords sound great .
For Bsus and F#m7 put capo on 2nd fret and play an Asus and a Em7
