when did we get a moderator?

i haven't been here in a few weeks. i thought it was cool that this was the only board of the tele page without a moderator (i never noticed one before, even if there was one). was there something that promted it? was it my dumb judgment comments that gave us one? i'm not complaining, just curious.

Lance is filling in...

I'm guessing that Paul just listed him under all the forums.

What's bad about a moderator in this forum? A whako could come here just as easily as any other forum.

cheers
Matt

yeah, i saw where lance was filling in for paul. i didn't know if it was as you say, just putting him on all the boards or that this happened before paul went on vacation.

i know a crazy (me) can come in here say things they aren't supposed to say and so forth. i just thought it was cool that this particular one didn't have a moderator - sorta like paul trusted us. when i saw there was a moderator i just wondered if something happened since the last time i dropped in. i'm not complaining, and wouldn't mind if there was a moderator. i just thought it said a little something about us that paul felt we didn't need one. that's all i was saying. no biggie - just curious.

I think it's because Paul took the big "V"!

I saw on the main page where Paul took acouple of day's and someone started some shenanigans there on the main page, and Paul had to "cut em loose". So this time Paul wanted to be prepared when he took off on a well deserved vacation, and gave the nod to Lance to watch things.

So far, Thank God, this forum has been free of problems, and everyone IMHO, seems to be on their best behaviour, but that doesnt proclude someone from comin in and 'stirrin the mud' as they say.

And no, I dont think we have a moderator now because of anything any body here in this forum has said to date. I believe, based on what Paul stated in the main page, it's just a proactive step, to help keep the peace, while Paul is away. that simple.

Hi Guys....

[...big brother is watching ]

Yeah Paul needed a couple of weeks off and he asked if I could watch the fort. Paul's pretty hands off as long as people don't cross the "grey line" and has asked me to handle it the same way. Actually, there are incidents that occur where Paul has had to act and remove thread or bounce someone from the board. Last week some guy was posting advertizements for guitar lessons in Philly. Recently, there was a heated discussion in the amp area about tubes. Most of the guys are pretty well behaved and Paul says he rarely needs to act on something. Unfortunately, it's rarely a clear cut issue and making these judgements can be difficult.

Anyway...I'm not sure why he asked me but I'll try my best and hopefully it'll be an uneventfull couple of weeks.

I've had a Divine Moderator since I was a kid.

Yeah, that guy never replied to me. I asked if he could teach me to play like a movie star. You know, without moving my fingers. I guess I'll have to settle for the old fashioned way.

Thanks for keepin' things running, Lance!
