All Right Rev. Spanky!

I think it's a great Idea! We got a couple around where I live in Whittier/La Mirada, Ca . Though I do suppose they get an awful lot of support from the students going to BIOLA University in La Mirada.

Set up an Open Mic Night, for those who wanna come down and Praise the Lord on their Acoustics, electrics, percussionists, etc.. You should get a nice variety of styles that way, and it wont always be on your shoulders to carry every night!

You might even think about stocking up on some apologetic writings, and books. Get some along the lines of Josh McDowell's 'More Than a Carpenter', and others of that type; their really good as a witness to the uninitiated.

And when your ready to go, run some fliers around to your local Church's, to let em know your their, and they can support someone else other than Mrs. Starbuck!

Just my two cents worth, if it's still worth that much!

Go for something "Main Street USA"

If you want to attract non-Christians find a place that is active, like the main street of a typical American town. Many have empty storefronts that make perfect coffee houses. Me and my Tele play with our worship band sometimes at a coffee house in such a storefront type place.

Play loud, good rockin' stuff and people will come in off the street to listen. Mix in some "fun" secular songs that have positive messages for added appeal. Free stuff like popcorn and chips on the tables helps. You may even want to make the coffee free. Have people bring baked goods to sell or let people eat for free.

This format works if you want to evangilize. If you are providing entertainment for the already saved, then don't worry about location and play Christian music only.

This evangilism approach works for us...

Blessings,
kEn

Coffee Houses--In the Word

Is there a directory of Christian Coffee Houses out there somewhere? I live in the Pacific NW and I know there must be some out here somewhere. Anyone got any leads?

Great idea, Rev! I hope that your idea works out. Now, let's see... suggestions....

1. A large stage so that we can all come by and jam with 'ya! 8)

2. Clean power for the stage. Must have a seperate line from the coffee makers.

Be blessed,

Gary
