What other guitars/amps/equipt. do you use?
Curious....
Not the ones that sit around & collect dust, but the one's you use on a regular/semi-regular basis.... 1)What's your main guitar?(Tele or not) 2)Your Backup? 3)Any other non-Tele guitar? 4)Main Amp/system? 5) Effects Me: 1) Fender Floyd-Rose Strat w/ EMG-SA pups 2) Fender Nashville Tele 3)Taylor 310CE, Olympia A/E 4) Fender Cybertwin or Rack:Peavey 50/50, Carvin Quad-X, Alesis QuadRaverb...etc. 5) Digitech RP2000, Boss GT-6. Always use a Chandler Tubedriver for OD. |

I use
MIM 04 Tele into either a GV40 (pignose 40 watt one channel no reverb), a Cyberdeluxe (Deluxe Reverb, 59 Bassman or Vox models with a little reverb and delay) or a Musicman rd50 1x12 combo lead channel with reverb.
For some of the mellower music I will use my Ibanez AF75 artcore hollow body with the same amps. No pedals, yet, I am planning on getting a wah to give the rhythm licks some oompf. Have a series 10 LP imitation as a a backup. Sometimes go into the board at church with no color :( and sometimes into the portable pa/keyboard amp. :? Like all three of the amps depending on what I'm doing. Find that the Pignose sounds best when its raining Peter |

Number one guitar is a modified MIM tele..#2 is s Jimmy Vaughn strat...#3 a Peavey T-60, again, modded a bit..then to a Boss ME-50, to a Traynor YVC20(if in the sancuary/Peavey Classic 50 212 if not)..The amp is miked into the house sound system.
With either amp I use a Danelectro Equalizer in the effects loop of the amp..

1. Main guitar - stock standard Tele
2. back up - stock standard Strat 3. Others - acoustics: Seagull S-6+, Seagull Grand, Regal round neck resonator, Fender Mandolin. The acoustics get very little play tiime since I bought my electrics 4. Amp - Fender Deluxe 90 DSP 5. effects - I play clean w/ no effects most of the time. I only use the DSP effects on my amp, and mostly the flanger. Telesaurus - how dop you like that Nashville Tele? The thought crossed my mind the other day that I might need one :D I prefer my Tele, but I like the "in between" settings on the Strat for fingerpicking sometimes, and I have found myself using the middle pick up some lately. Peter - how do you like the Artcore? I would like a hollowbody, but of course can't afford a Gibson. I like the looks of the Ibanez hollows and semi-hollows, but I have avoided buying Chinese made instruments so far.

I love it! It's kinda like the best of both worlds. It does a really good Strat"quack", in-between setting, plus the Tele bite in the #1 position. I also like the #4 position for finger-picking. It crystal clear, but doesn't have the harshness that the #5 position.(neck pup) has. It is a bit heavier than any of my other Teles & Strats. I have gotten so use to the Floyd-Rose on the Strat, I am checking into the possibility of having one installed on a Nashville Tele. I'm not quite sure how it would affect the tone though. I'll probably search out a good used one to do that. Even though i love it, you might want to check one out personally B-4 buying...you know how the personal taste thing goes. |

I love the Artcore
Great bang for the buck, wonderful neck and a nice "woody" resonance. I have it strung with flatwound 12's at the moment and the bass strings really sound good. Not much bending with the heavy strings but great for hymns. The pickups are not very hot but for what I do its great. You can hear it unplugged so if you want to practice quietly its great. This was my favorite guitar of all time until I made the "mistake" of playing a tele.

Hollow
I play for a small congregation in a small building, and usually the band is keys, piano, and my guitar. Occasionally we'll add other pieces, too.
For us, "fullness" is more important than "bite", so I usually play my Washburn AE10, a single-cut full hollowbody with a great sound. Most of the tone comes from attack and fingers - I learned that listening to Tommy :D I often run a BOSS chorus pedal for shimmer, and usually go right through the board (an old Sun which I've set up for my tastes). A simple set up for a simple setting! Of course, when it's rock'n time out comes the tele....

1. 72' Custom Tele RI - Nice full humbucker tone along with the biting tele bridge! I love the in between for a lot of rhythm parts. I've found my electric soulmate with this guitar.
2. Backup, not here! 3. Taylor 110 with Fishman Matrix I - an AMAZING acoustic for the $$, and mates surprisingly well with the fishman. 4. 1967 Ampeg Gemini I - 20 watts, 1x12 speaker. Amazing clean tone that reacts very well to my effects. The cornerstone of my electric sound. 5. Pedalboard as follows: Crybaby Classic Wah (with fasel inductor) a good wah for non boutique; Analogman SD-1/808 for heavy-ish rhythms & lead boost; Analogman TS-9/Silver, a beautiful overdrive, very natural to your original tone; Boss CE-3, a good replacment for my dead CE-2. Thats my setup, for this week. jesse |

Here's Mine
Guitars:
American Deluxe Telecaster and a Garrison G20-CE acoustic. The more medative the song, the more likely I'll play it on the Garrison in a fingerstyle manner. The more P&W'zy the song, the more likely I'll play it on the Tele, strumming chords and filling in with arppegios. Setup: The Garrison is plugged into a Fender Acoustasonic Jr. The amp's stereo line out is routed through Y connectors to an Alesis Nano Compressor. The compressor stereo out is routed through another set of Y connectors. One side of the Y's goes back to the Acoustasonic's stereo line in, and the other half of the Y's go to the main board. Placed in front of me and pointed at me, the Acoustasonic is my personal guitar monitor. The Tele is plugged into a Berringer V-Amp 2. The V-Amp stereo out is plugged into the other half of the Y connectors on the Nano Compressor input. As a result, the Acoustasonic's pre-amp controls the Garrison's tone/effects, and the V-Amp controls the Tele tone/effects. The compressor and the Acoustasonic's power amp get the signal from both guitars. I really love this setup. The Tele with the noiseless pups, and the S-1 switching (turned ON and the tone in the detent/OFF position, I get a sound kind of in between the normal Tele twang and the acoustic). On any Sunday, I'll use 3 or 4 pre-programmed settings on the V-Amp. The Garrison/Acoustasonic combination is simply fantastic! Lastly, the Nano Compressor, in addition to being stereo, provides much more control and monitoring than what's availiable on a pedal. Gosh, just talking about it gets me so excited, I think I'll go practice Sunday's set! Fred |

My modest setup ...
1) Main guitar is my Fernandes 60s Tele copy with a set of Dimarzio Twang Kings.
2)Backup ? My Yamaha Pacifica 112 with Virtual Vintage Neck Pups and Duncan JB Bridge humbucker. 3)Any other non-Tele guitar? Still yet to used my acoustics or ES336 copy. Don't know how to amplify my acoustic at the moment. 4)Main Amp/system? Vox Valvetronix 15 is a nice little baby that does it all for me. 5) Effects are all from the Vox. Yes fschebor, all these talking does make you want to play. That's what I like about this forum. |

Telesaurus,
My Nashville Tele should arrive any day now - I caught a deal on a black one w/ rosewood fingerboard from AMS - $429, no shipping. I'm stationed overseas, so I don't get to try out anything - 45 day return policy, so if I don't like it - or there is something wrong - back it goes!

1)What's your main guitar?(Tele or not) Gibson 57 RI goldtop
2)Your Backup? Mahogany Tele with Lentz neck 3)Any other non-Tele guitar? Fender Robert Cray Strat 4)Main Amp/system? SFDR, or 2x6V6 Champ in a head box, on a closed 1x12 with a Celestion blue alnico. Closed cab now because the sound guy is complaining about the sound dispersion of the open cabs. 5) Effects? Barber Burn Unit EQ, Dunlop Wah, TC Electronics chorus. 6) Play bass sometimes with a Lakland 55-01 or a homebrew repro Pbass for a rootsier tone. 7) Gibson J-55 acoustic (1973 or so) |

Believe it or not, I've sold quite a few things over the last year and I really need to sell a few more. I've never been a collector so to speak, but I've been blessed to come upon some fantastic deals.....and I can't pass em up! And yes....I do have a huge bed! I'm 6'5" and ear size 17 shoes, so I need a VERY large bed!! |

Main Instruments Used
I switch between an American Standard Fender with Bill Lawrence pups and a mid 80's Ibanez Roadstar II (the one designed by Steve Lukather).
Amps of choice are an old Music Man RD 50 with a twelve and a Peavey Classic 30. But for sheer performance in a crunch, and a host of great sounds as well as just about as light as a lunch box, I pull out the Roland Cube 30. I know it's solid state but my, oh, my, it sure makes some nice sounds. For acoustic work God has blessed me with a Taylor 410 w/a Fishman pup and an outboard preamp as well as an early 80's Ovation Custom Legend. I'm close to 50 so I still pull out the occasional pedal - late 70's MXR Distortion Plus and a Phase 100 also early 80's Ibanez Chorus and Delay. My favorite ax, though, is the sword of the Spirit. |
