Public Repentance
not asking what you think of it, i'm just doing a little of my own. maybe a month or so ago (i'm terrible with time) i stumbled on here (sunday morning superstars) and was kinda mad. i tacked onto a post that was kinda cynical about being pushed off the main board. i threw in my cynicism and basically said that i couldn't look at this page cause it made me mad. if you don't know what i'm talking about you can look at the thread New Forum For Churchplayers.
someone, maybe praisecaster, PMed me and said i should read some of the replies. i said i wasn't coming back (and had no intentions of doing so) but i decided to after the PM. since that time i've checked out some of the threads and even commented on some. (man, i feel like bob.) i can see how this is a useful section of the tdpri. i still pretty much agree with my first post in the respect that a lot of the things posted here could go on the main board. but i can see some that just work better over here. so i repent from being a close minded, judgmental jerk. i'll probably have relapses my whole life but for now, on this subject, i realize i was wrong and reacted drasticly. have a great day.

Don't... Can't read all posts in the TDPRI
I'm sure you all realize that there is no way I can read every post and every topic on the TDPRI. So, until I read this post I wasn't aware of the earlier discussion.
Just so everyone knows, I created the Sunday Morning forum to permit a bit more freedom to talk about religious subjects. Religion is not discussed on the main pages because the page crosses too many religions, countries and cultures. Just like politics, religion discussion can too easily lead to flame wars (and real wars too, for that matter). But I recognized that there was a minority of folks that really wanted to discuss this part of their playing and it's role in their lives. In reading the SMS forum I read things that would be quickly stopped in the other discussion forums here. Why don't I stop discusson on drinking etc? This type of discussion is not the same argument starter that discussing one's religious beliefs is. Lines here are drawn pretty much as they are in current day society. Drugs, Sex, Politics and Religious doctrine are all special and sometimes difficult subjects and in general deserve some special guidelines to keep things on an even keel. There are Christian Music Discussion Boards, Al-Anon Discussion Boards, Sex Discussion Boards and Drug Discussion Boards that meet the needs of those that want to discuss these issues freely. But that doesn't mean that every one of these subjects should be openly and freely discussed at the Telecaster Discussion Page. Hope this helps clear things up a bit. Paul Green |

Well, all I gotta say is......
JDO, I'm really glad your back cruisin the Sunday Morning SuperStars! You've got alot to offer all of us here, and your insight is much appreaciated. And as you can see from our Webmaster Generals (or is it the Grand Master POO-BAH of Webmasters?) response, He gave us this thread to have a lil more freedom, and a way to avoid "flame wars".
Now as to bein like Bob ( ), I dont think so! I think it is a good thing to always wonder if we are compromising our Faith, but participating on this forum, I dont think (imho), constitutes compromising the Faith. Now for pennance: For your afore self proclaimed Heresy JDO, you have to send me a Brand Spankin new 52RI Telecaster, or your in deep DOO-DOO! I'm only jokin!

Dang, now I went and told on myself.
i guess this actually leads me to saying i'm sorry yet again. paul, i meant to contact you and ask you why it was that you started the sunday morning superstars (SMS) section when i first noticed it. but after a while, i basically worked it out on my own and it didn't really seem like a big issue to me anymore. where i appologized earlier for being a judgmental jerk - that was refering to my judging you on why you started the SMS. that was wrong on my part. i've noticed that the things you do, have to do with trying your best to help us all out - such as asking everyone about the 4 sections that you wanted to take out, then listening to everyone and getting rid of two of them and combining the other two into one. you do seem to be a nice guy trying to help people out, and for me to jump to a conclusion without talking to you about it is just wrong.
and praisecaster, dude, if i could i would but on a youth ministers salary in north carolina, there ain't a whole lot of extra cash layin' around.

i don't know how familiar you are with wilson. i'm at stoneybrook church of christ (we're not of the non-instrumental branch - we have the works). we're on airport blvd. accross from the pool hall and next to the fire station. it would be cool if you drop in some time. if you come on a sunday morning, you might not see me. i'm in the back doing children's church so i never get to see any new people.
