Worship Set Lists

Thought it might be cool to see what everyone is playing this week (and weeks ahead! - Sticky!).

I hold down the bottom end with my trusty Thunderbird, DI to the board, Aviom monitor, old school 'phones.

3/1/09:

Love the Lord
Shout to the Lord
Wonderful Merciful Savior
He Knows My Name

Love The Lord is a favorite for me because it has kind of a Motown/Jamerson bass line.

That's a great tune. Our congregation isn't quite that rockin' but I hope we can do it for the youth sometime. We play a ton of Chris Tomlin.

It's fun. I use the LP with the Rat cranked up. We are lucky to be able to do a nice mix of music, from older stuff, to some more rockin' tunes.

I remember seeing Daniel Carson in a video explaining his playing - cranking the amp and overdrive to nearly feeding back as I recall. Very cool.

One time, I incorporated some feedback like that - feedback into the starting riff, and at the big ending, and while we thought it was cool, the sound guy totally freaked out. I doubled the rat with my fulldrive for those parts, it was awesome. Probably not the best idea on a Sunday morning in hindsight.

(sorry for the dupe posts everyone)

We did Let God Arise at Easter time last year, and probably will again this year (my wife is the worship leader so I have a little pull). It is a very powerful song on Easter morning...

We did it last Sunday, and it was also pretty powerful.

Let the Praises Ring
My Savior Lives
Mighty to Save
The Stand

went pretty well. got to let loose a little bit on Mighty to Save. Not a ton, just playing around with some two note chords. had fun. praised God. all in all a pretty good set.

also, Organ, and Harmonica (which A.T.M. is lost, but I don't like major key harmonicas anyway, I'm going too buy a natural minor tuned one). I might also buy a Bass this year.

And in the distant future, I can picture myself playing the Mandocello, Violin, and Baritone Guitar.

I plan to take over the world of music one instrument at a time.

Pretty sure that's the one. I've sung it for ages with the congregation before joining P&W.

We play a number of songs from Lincoln Brewster, Chris Tomlin, Starfield, Nichole Nordeman, Tommy Walker, Jeremy Camp, etc. Additionally, our worship team leader is a professional that has written original music that we incorporate into the services as well. Here is an example from our Night of Worship live CD: http://vimeo.com/2936272

We recorded the entire evening late last Sept and produced a CD that we use for ministry purposes.

Just got this weeks list:
"Praise to the Lord, the Almighty"
"Doxology"
"Take my life and let it be"
Its kind of a bummer and a blessing at the same time but there is no worship band, bummer casue its not as fun to mix (I am on audio this week) but I blessing because its no fun trying to find guitar parts to play in that set list.

Unfortunately for me I can't play for our last evening contemporary service til fall (our worship leader/youth pastor's wife [who happens to be our piano/keys/general musical band glue] is due with their first baby on July 1) but they are doing a full night of music and it is killing me that I can't play, especially since I've got the brand new tele that I need to debut. I'll post the set list once I find it
