This is my live set up:

Tele -> Boss SD-1 -> Tech 21 Liverpool -> Ernie Ball VP Jr. -> Line 6 Echo Park -> Digitech Digiverb -> Direct Box -> Board

I use the Liverpool as an "amp." I leave it on all the time. I set it up with a clean sound, although I make sure it isn't completely clean. Just sounds better that way. I also use it to boost my low output guitar and I use the three band EQ quite a bit as well. I really like this pedal.

I also have a Korg tuner/metronome on there plugged into the tuner out on the volume pedal. I like having a metronome on the board. Since my delay doesn't have presets, if I need two different tempos (particularly if I open a song and don't have the benefit of a drummer setting the tempo for me) I can look down during a break and set the delay to the lights on the metronome.

I power the whole board with a visual sound 1-spot.

I made the board myself from around $30 in materials from Home Depot and Jo-ann Fabrics. Super easy and pretty fun too.

+1 Here's my Rondo board. I've been using it for two or three years. Externally it's getting reliced but it works like a charm. Unplug the power supply, input and output cables, throw them in with the pedals and attach the lid.

Boss NS-2, TU-2, CE-5, DS-1 (with avampshop.com DS7000 mod) Dunlop Hi Gain volume Pedal and a DD-5 rounds it out. Note the pick holder under the red cable.

The Boss NS-2 noise gate makes for a cluttered layout but works great with my Strat.

Nice, I've got a pickholder like that mounted on my board now too. I'll get a pic up soon since I picked up a pedaltrain since I last posted a pic in this forum.

I'll support the suggestion of the PedalTrain. You can get the padded bag version. I have a custom built roadcase, but'll go the PedalTrain next.....

For patch cables, go the George L's....its worth it.

Pedaltrain all the way. I had a solid board before, and the slots in the pedaltrain make it so much easier to configure and keep neat.

I got the guitar center version, which comes with a hard case.

Board? You could use a board? Guitar, Ibanez tuner, Dano Tuna Melt, Dano boost pedal (I forget which one; not the distortion pedal), amp. Roland Cube 30.

I use a POD XT Live, it is like having a limitless pedalboard, I particularly love the ability to edit the presets with my laptop using the gearbox software

Hello All,

This is my home-made version. One pedal is missing due to I am getting ready to trade it tomorrow.
I used a 34X16 ATA case and build the board from half inch aluminum angle for light weight. It has a power inlet I just plug a plain extension cord to. I have a BBE Supa Charger underneath powering the pedals.

The jacks on the left are;
FX loop send
FX loop return
Footswitch
Output (to amp)

I use a home-made snake to connect board to amp.

I use Corex2 gold tip cables. They are crystal clear. Best cable I have found and inexpensive too. The downfall is the huge collars makes them hard to position pedals too close. Solution is I run most cables underneath.

Oh!, Almost forgot.....the switch on the top right powers three blue LED light strips (three bulbs each) under the board. LOL, I know, a little extreme but I have electricity under it....why not??? There is no limit when you make your own.......

Thanx Ravindave,

Set up time on Sunday morning is important and this rig can actually be set up in no time.

I am not done with this board yet. I have two 3dpt switches and two more jacks that I will mount on the right side. This will allow me to use two guitars, (like an a/b switch), only with no box. The second switch will split the tuner so I don't have it in the chain when not in use. Everything else is true bypass except the EQ which is always on anyway, and the NS-2.

I use a Deciminator in the loop and the NS-2 in front. Oh, and all jacks are wired with the Corex2 extra cable. This cable is awesome.

Corex2? Never heard of it. But then, there are LOTS of things I've never heard of.

George L's are great I'm sure. Especially for the tighter boards where real estate is important.

CoreX2's have huge collars like I mentioned on my post, but the quality I can certainly vouch for since they are on my board. And as many as I use, I have not had any bad ground issues......yet!..lol

Check out the attached pics and see what I mean about the collars....

Do you guys put your volume pedal at the start or end of the chain? I've been using it at the end recently to control the level of the overall overdriven/gain sounds but wondered how other people are doing it?

And what pedals are people using to create "ambiance" or "colour" on top of what the band are doing? I've been trying the Modulate function on the Boss DD-7 but don't want to take away from people worshipping but want to add something.

I put my volume pedal after the od/distortions, and before the delays. That allows me to have control over the gain level, and also lets me fade out while the delay trails off. Putting it first in the chain didn't work for me, as that controls the output from the guitar, which can weaken the gain when you don't always want it too. I use the guitar's volume knob for that. I find I really need to have control over my volume levels at church - if I was in a club, I could probably crank it, set it and forget it, but not so much at church.

As for coloring stuff, I use delay, usually with Modulation, sometimes tremolo, and I use my MXR Phase 90 quite a bit, that thing covers quite a bit of sonic ground. I'll use chorus sparingly now and then.

Cool, what sort of songs do you use the MXR Phase 90 on? We do stuff like Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Hillsongs etc...

Also I'm looking at Line 6's Verbzilla...I'm really after the Octo setting within the pedal but was wondering if anybody knew of a pedal that just did that on its own...I doubt I'd use any of the other settings.

I like to use it to bring out certain parts - as for songs I use it on regularly:

Tomlin's 'Holy is the Lord' - I hit it for the 'together we sing' part, with some OD it makes some nice swirling sounds.
Rain down by Delirious - sometimes in the intro, and towards the end, when it pauses and picks back up.
Hillsong - Your love is beautiful - the 'your love is beautiful parts'

One these, I usually have it set to about 9'oclock, or 15% on.

I'll crank it up for the synth loop part I emulate on It is You by the newsboys for a watery sound sometimes too...

Those are some of the songs I use it for, works out well for me.

I use a Freakshow Digilog for delay. For swirls I use a Mojo Vibe. The mojo is sweet and gives a phase/chorus/trem sound all in one. It is a great pedal but takes several weeks to get due to a waiting list. Worth the wait though.
Also have a Analogman Chorus that sounds great on leads with distortion.

Does anyone use the EH Micro POG for ambient volume swell stuff with a bit of delay? I've been watching a few guys on YouTube using it generally but I think it could work in a worship setting.

Here is mine, sorry about the bad quality (of the pictures of course, not the board : D)

and here in more detail

Signalpath is Guitar> TU-2 > DIY True Bypass Looper Send> Boss Limiter LM-2 > Digitech Whammy > Electro Harmonix POG > TC Electronics Tremolo > Boss TW-1 (AUto Wah) > DIY True Bypass Looper Return> Dunlop Crybaby Wahwah (My lonely island effect) > Boss Blues Driver BD-2 > Boss Equalizer GE-7 > Marshall Echohead Delay > AD30
Most of the Boss Pedals are nice old black label, they are great.

I use this board when I gig with my powertrio, at church I usually use only a few pedals (tuner>OD>Delay or so)

I love my pedals, they make me happy

I splirged and bought the Pedal Train (not the jr, the step up) and while I about had a heart attack spending that much money on powder coated aluminum, I have never been happier with any accessory purchase as I am with this one. I use it with a HotSpot power supply and (mostly) George L cabling.

Not shown is the footswitch for the Mesa Lonestar, which is my primary distortion.

I am thinking about a way to case my POD XT live and I think I am going to make the case big enough to house my MM-4 as well, I really like the way some of the effects (ok, mostly the tremolo) are set up on the MM-4
