Jesus on a Tele

No, I don't have a YouTube clip and I'm not saying if Jesus were here he'd be playing one!

I just finished modding my '03 MIM Tele with a pair of GFS Dream 180's. The finishing touch was a decal I found at AutoZone when I was looking for pinstriping tape for another guitar build.

I was wanting to try my hand at woodburning and if I could find a good enough picture of Jesus I was going to buy a body somewhere and give it a shot. Not much luck googling image files, then I found this. It was almost exactly what I was thinking of.

Here's the other project I am working on:

I'll post pics of the "Lighthouse" guitar when it's finished.

Which begs the question, "What would Jesus play?"

Wow, sorry I missed him. I didn't find the TDPRI until last year. I checked out some of his posts, seemed like quite the guy.

Looks like the righteous Judge is judging your right hand technique.

Better play right. ;)

nice guitar and nice decal. just a thought, wouldn't your wrist obscure the decal when playing it? probably should be in the center part, anyway YMMV. i like the two humbuckers there.

I usually pick between the two pups mostly. A little more towards the bridge for more chimey sound or to do palm muting.

Those Dream 180's have a fanastic sound! Still definitely sounds like a Tele IMHO.

i'm thinking of putting a Jesus or a cross decal on one each of my acoustic and electric to designate it purely for Praise and worship playing.

peace, LDR

Yeah, the ole Rev Spanky was a great bro, full of energy, and really wanted to just share the Love of God with everyone he met. And they said, to look at him, he just looked like a nice old guy, but then when his Tele went around his shoulder, he could tear into Jimmi Hendrix like no one else! Just left people with there jaw on the ground!

oh come on we all know Jesus would use a Tele, either a Tele or a Gretsch!

Ol' Rev Spanky! He was indeed a great bro!

I was on vacation in Florida when I got the sad news of his passing. We used to exchange e-mails about his love of Teles and his beloved Salvation Army.

It made me sad and made me smile when I clicked on the link and saw his avatar.

God bless you Spanky!

Thanks Praisecaster. You post made me sad and smile at the same time!

Peter
