I was going to post something, but it was totally inappropriate for the P&W forum. So instead, knock 'em dead, PraiseCaster!

I sang in a gospel choir on Christmas day almost 10 years ago, at a max security prison - a memorable experience indeed. Glad to hear you're doing this, Praisecaster... a big high five from me.

Wow!

Its really hard to describe.

Getting in was pretty much as they described too us, so now surprised there, and since we where prepared, it all went smoothly.

There was a Christian Scientists group that was just finishing up when we got there. What was insightful for me and the rest of us, one of the inmates that participated with the Christiian Scientists, came over and inquired about soem scripture we had up on the power point screen: "Is that from the bible? Where can I find that?" The scripture: Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." It just hit me, that there are those here that are hungry, and I could see exactly how Jesus felt when coming into Jerusalem:
"Luke 13:34
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!"

When the inmates came in to get seated, they where all acting pretty tough, flashing gang signs, "eyein" other inmates, and eyein us.

I could tell by there demeaner they didnt plan on giving us much of a reception. And it was a "polite" reception at best.

But there was a major turn around by the end of the first song, and there were very few dry eyes in that chapel that day.

Everyone in the band played there hearts out with a fervency, and none of us held anything back, and IO think the inmates saw that, and where taken back by it. I watched hearts softening and melting I tell ya!

We played for about an hour to begin with, then there was a brief 20 minute message, and we finished with another twenty minute set.

I could tell that besides many being appreciative of us coming, many were impacted deeply.
