Returning Member and Job Blues
Hey,
I was a long time member that closed my old account a while back, but I missed it. Now I'm back, with a different name. I was demoted last week with a potential decrease in pay. The "corp." restructured and sort-of eliminated my work area, I think there is more to it than this but I will never be told the whole story, actual dollars in savings is probably 10% of EBIT of areas involved. I shouldn't bitch too much because I still have my job and benefits, but like I said I may be down in income, even with more overtime. I have a wife and 2 kids, so I declined the severance, and chose to keep working mostly for healthcare, and because of the very real possibility of not finding work in 3 months. After working for the "corp." for 14 years I feel like its time to do something else as I don't feel they value me as an employee in any way.

That sucks, look at the bright side in keeping a job, though. Maybe look for other places to work while you still have the support of that job.
