hello and thanks

Hi all
I assembled a bunch of parts to make my 1st Tele.
I joined this forum yesterday so I could write a thanks.
After finally getting it complete I plugged it in to give 'er a shot.
It buzzed something crazy. So I used this forum to search for a remedy.
I figured it was a ground issue but I know nothing from nothing.
I found here that hums can be caused by the wires on the output jack being soldered in reverse.
So hoping I had the same issue I removed the jack and changed the wires.
Now it is dead silence (except when strummed of course).
And I did it without a ton of head aches thanks to this forum.
So I had to join to say thanks
THANKS
