Newbie from Florida
Hey there.
TJ here. 40 year old newbie to telecasters and TDPRI. I have being playing acoustic guitar with a splash of electric for a total of about 5 years now. Nothing serious, just some goofing off at church etc. I do play the piano (some would say rather well) in a country gospel style. And I can play the bass. About a month ago, I fell in love with a telecaster and so I ordered it. I am picking it up tomorrow. I have purchased a Deluxe Reverb Reissue and a few pedals that I've done some research on. I am hyper interested in the chicken picking style. I've done quite a bit of research and I know about Doug Seven, etc. But would anyone have any suggestions on a little more 'beginner' type videos and stuff? Any scales that are MUST BE PROFICIENT AT? (For clarity, I know how to chord, I know the fret board rather well, etc. So I guess you wouldn't say I'm a beginner. More of a novice in the chicken picking country style. I can even pick out melodies by ear on the guitar. Just nothing super fast and nothing like the quadrillion notes per measure that I hear :)) Hope you don't mind the questions... I'm sure I'll have a lot more. By the way, here is a pic of my guitar.. It's a new Nashville B Bender...
