Hello TDPRI-ers new bloke and NGD
Morning all,
Yesterday, I sold my Vintage brand SG copy as, lovely guitar as it was, I was never completely comfortable with the weight and feel (the neck dive always bothered me a bit), so was I sensible and put the money by for a rainy day?? good god no!... I went straight out and bought a brand new guitar!!! Its only a cream affinity tele (squier) but they seemed to get decent reviews and I've always loved the look of the tele (no need for another 'bucker equipped guitar either as i've got two that fit that bill). First impressions are positive, seems well made (not what I expected for budget chinee-made) and finished and feels great to play straight out of the box (not had a chance to look at setup yet). so happy new tele day to me ;) dave |

here she is,
This is my current setup,
Vox lil night train, running through a home-made cab. Other guitars are an Aria 335 style semi hollow, and an Explorer shape by Rally (lovely guitar - made in the same factory as Epiphone but only cost me £50) Im only learning but am a bit of a compulsive collector when I get a new hobby..... (much to my wifes dismay...) |

Welcome Dave. Good to have you here.
Nice set-up. What genre of music do you play? Are you in a band? I have a really good friend who was a paramedic out of Riverton Wyoming for years. He worked with search and rescue as well. I have always thought that you guys don't get enough credit for what you do. I have been in a couple of occasions that has called for the use of your services. Looks like an interesting and exciting job. There are a lot of players here that are from Great Britain and all over Europe.

TY for the complements Gary, its the best job in the world, never know what each day will bring (some good - some bad). I'm not in a band (no where near good enough yet) its more of a "downtime unwind" thing for me.
Musical taste ranges from pavarotti to slayer with a bit of sabbath, stones and waits on the way so I just mess around with no particular direction..I used to have lessons for a while but lately life has got in the way so I'm self teaching. PD |

after 2 days of ownership of the "creamy princess" this morning is the first time i've really had to sit down and play her. WOW, I love the satin feel of the maple neck, setup seems 99% spot on out of the box. and she sounds SOOOOO different from all my other guitars (all twin HB).... i'm so happy with it i might even take the thin clear plastic cover off the pickguard.....
