Steve Hall

I'm new to this site but I am excited to get involved and soak up some knowledge. I've only been playing just short of two years. If I never get it, it won't be because of a lack of tools. I have five Tele's in my inventory. A 52' RI, a 72' Thinline RI, a 2005 mex built, my own creation that I built and my favorite Tele a Waylon replica done by Mosby Guitars. I play through a vintage 1964 Trembulux Fender and a Blues DeVille RI. The Waylon replica is simply perfect. If anyone out there is considering having this done I strongly recommend Jeff Mosby at Mosby Guitars. The craftsmanship is flawless and the guitar plays like a dream. Worth every penny. I would like to upgrade the rest of this guitar to a "Broadcaster" look. I have obtained some Broadcaster waterslide headstock decals. Any advise on removing the factory decals would be appreciated. I'd particularly like to know the best clear coat to use over the new decals. Thanks, I'm looking forward to any advise out there

Welcome, we need pics of your teles.

I'll tell you that putting fake decals on teles is frowned upon around here.

No fake Fender decals will make it a Fender! and to make it a broadcaster is just wrong. Try putting those decals on an old radio or something! That said Welcome and enjoy your 1000 gtrs broadcaster excluded!

Welcome. I have three friends who have put Gibson decals on thier acoustic guitars. An Epiphone, an Alvarez, and a Rouge. My headstock says Fender and means it.

My collection

Here are some pics of my guitars. I realize that a reproduction decal does not make a MIM Tele a Broadcaster just as a leather cover does not make me Waylon Jennings. The small details do make me content however. After all my satisfaction is what I'm after

Hey man! Welcome!! Glad to have you. Others aren't as open minded here, but if you want to take of the logo use a very fine scotchbrite pad, or if you want to remove the finish and and redo it with a new decal and finish. Aslong as your not trying to pass it off as a REAL Fender,I don't think it matters if you put a F logo on her. Good luck! And Welcome!!
