Hi there,

Where about in NZ do you live? There's a few kiwis on this forum so you can always find some useful local info if you know who to ask.

Look out for a bloke named Kwerk....................He'll lead you astray and have you building guitars that you can see through and funny stuff like that!

Now that might be an interesting idea to pursue.

The blues club in Wellington has a jam night every month - good chance for people to catch up and play some blues if anyone's keen.

Anyone interested??

Hi Phoenix, welcome. This place is amazing, I already made a guitar solely from how these guys make it look so simple!

We can let the Aussie thing pass.....we have a kiwi in aussie by the name of Nick so it evens out

Excellent guy he is too, Nick JD,

I attempted one guitar and ended up with kindling, attempted and succeeded in building a cool amp, and going to build more. I learning nearly all of that off the guys on here.

We have a monthly blues night in rotorua for the bay of plenty blues club, I am not a member but I often drive over to watch. There is such a great music scene in wellington, I am jealous of you guys.

And there's good reason to be jealous of the Wellington music scene - and the blues in particular.

Without wanting to blow any trumpets (or even twang my own tele! I'm the club's vice president at the moment!), the Capital Blues Club is the best (and longest established club) in the country - and I've been to them all except the Auckland one. We've been going since 1996 and have a blues gig every single week of the year and been at the same venue now for over 10 years - so we must be doing something right!

The last Thursday of every month is a jam night with a great house band and anyone can get up and play. So all you players in the area should do your best to come along and see what's going on. You don't have to be the best player in the world - but if you are you'll be well appreciated by the crowd.

Try it out. You might like it..........

Not to hijack the thread but have any of you wellington guys been to see The Eggs at the matterhorn? http://economyrecords.bandcamp.com/a...of-every-month

I must get down to visit the Capital Blues Club some time. Our BOP Blues club is not too bad but too often not much blues gets played. I have however seen Hammond Gamble and Brendan Power get well and truly shown up by locals.
