First Post Massachusetts

Hi,

I've just gotten into Tele's. My son asked for an electric for Christmas. I asked a guitar collector that I met what I should get. He said a Tele. Great, as I was thinking along the MIM Fender line. I got one on eBay for ~ $350. Unfortunately it had no hardshell case and the picture didn't point out problems. The post mentioned no switch knob, but there was also no tone nor vol knob. I ordered both. Fortunately it came w/ new strings, so I strung it up and cleaned it a bit w/ lemon pledge. There was a ding on the fretboard - which makes me wonder. I tightened the jack which was way loose. My son noticed a buzz on the 6th string. I went on line thinking a neck adjustment was needed, but noticed that it was a string heght issue. The 6th string was set quite low. This takes a tiny allen wrench - so hopefully my 27 yo son can figure that out.

Anyway, I got myself a '92 MIM also on Craigslist. 10 years older than my son's. I had better luck with this one. I like the blue color. It has a hardshell case. I gave him the asking price of $300.

I play in a church band. My first elec guitar was a messed up Les Paul Light. The Tele looks less finicky. I have a Marshall 30 10 inch solid state amp. Now I'm looking at the Bugera V22.

My electric guitar life just flashed before me.

Welcome.
If I could only have one electric, it would be a Tele.
Great tone for days!

We are religious Margarets breakfast customers, and Elizabeths for dinner. I don't know what kinda music youse guys are into, but my band the dividers are playing the pour farm downtown nb tonight. (garage/surf sounding) with iron mustache. (maiden covers). It's the owner's deployment party. Guess what kind of axe I'll be rockin'...

Hey, I saw your note too late. I've been to the Pour Farm. They have great beers there. Sorry I missed your gig. I'm guessing that I would like your music more than the Maiden band.
