New from Santa Barbara
I have checked out this forum for years and finally decided to join in on the action!
I just finished my copy of a Fender La Cabronita Tele with TV jones P/U's. It turned out really well and I'm extremely happy with it. I'm looking forward to being active in the forum and hopefully learning a lot of useful info! |

I will definitely post pics soon, just have to find that camera....
Here are some basic specs: Warmoth vintage modern maple neck w/brz. rosewood 10/16 radius Warmoth alder body - 4lbs TV Jones Powertrons I had some interesting challenges with this guitar, mainly because it wasn't a straight forward tele build. I also have to say that Warmoth provides some high quality parts and I highly recommend them for anyone looking to build or restore a guitar. |

Very nice!
And a warm welcome from me, too! Used to live in your hometown (actually, in IV, since I was a student at UCSB) for a while myself...

Welcome fellow SB'r
I'm in the Mesa.
Real nice guitar. I bet it sounds great. I been wanting to do a TV build too. -Are TV they classics? -Did you use a bridge spacing TV and a different neck spacing PU? -What is the nut width of the neck? -What bridge did you use? -Are the PU heights adjustable? Rockin' Mike |

Hi Mike, nice to meet a SB local, here are some answers for ya:
-I used TV Jones Powertrons and the string spacing lined up perfectly with a Fender american standard hardtail bridge. -The string spacing is wider on the bridge pickup than on the neck. -I have a 1-11/16" nut on mine. -The pickup height is adjustable, I just added some spacers underneath to make it just right. I am very happy with the overall sound an it's a nice change from humbuckers and single coils. I would highly recommend a tele build like this, it smokes! |
