After 20 years, my first Tele type...

Hello all!

Well, I'm a bit ashamed to say that I've been playing for 20 years and just acquired my first Tele type guitar - a Grosh Bent Top Custom T. I'm a long time Strat player and always perceived the Tele as inferior to the Strat. Well, I've certainly been having fun proving myself wrong! I'm a local at TGP and a few motorcycle forums under the same screen name. Just thought I would drop in and introduce myself before I jump into the insanity!

Ben

Hi Ben,

I understand your concern ! I also betrayed my Yamaha Aes and my Les Paul after 12 years with a nice blond telecaster and I really don't regret it it :-)

Have fun :-)

Thanks to all for the warm welcome! I've attached a few pictures as requested - two of the Grosh, and one of the current family photo. I'll probably get rid of a few of them as I just can't justify keeping guitars that I don't play as much.

Thanks again, I can tell I'm going to like it here!

Gee, what a nice arsenal!!! You can hurt yourself with so many guitars! Let me help you: I've heard the Shipping Costs from Illinois to Brazil are way low these days.
I'll tell you what: send me the Les Paul like guitar (too heavy for you) and I will take care of her. And why do you need so many acoustics? Send me one over.

Thanks Schitzotronic! Actually, the LP is a Collings and it is quite light. It's actually lighter than the white Strat, and about even with the suburst Strat and the Grosh Tele! The Collings and the white (John Mayer sig) Strat are both for sale, and at pretty darn reasonable prices. If you know someone who may be interested, send them my way! I've only had the Tele about a month now, and it's already obsoleting some of my previous favorite guitars!

The acoustics are all keepers. The one on the far right is a 1960 Gibson LG-0. It was my first guitar ever. My mom gave it to me - it was hers since she was in college and used to play. The middle one is a Collings D1Mh and is the best acoustic I've ever played. If you couldn't tell, I'm partial to mahogany! The one on the far left is a cheap Takamine nylon string - EG124C, maybe? Bought it on an impulse for a nylon guitar. It's fun to play, and isn't worth enough to warrant selling.

Thanks for looking!
