Hoosier bluesman
...I wish, maybe someday, lol, lol, I'm 49 and I just started playing in Feb 09, I've wanted to learn for years, but life got in the way, I built Hot Rods, flamethrowers, kustom bicycles, motorcycles and turned wrenches for 25 years, suffered through a thrice broken neck in 2000, twice it was repaired, last was too damaged to do the surgery, I wore a hard collar for 6 mos. 24/7 after refusing the halo, then a lesson in "life is too short" came 4 years ago when my son Dustin was killed by a drunk driver just 3 weeks after coming home from Iraq....... so now my life is different.... much different, I build longbows for archery, one of a kind kustoms from Elk antler, I'm learning the guitar, because life is too short, and I'm not getting any younger, it calms the beast in me, and I play a little every day....I should have started sooner...... as for guitars I have an old 60's Kay copy of the 335, an Ibanez fwd60 semi-hollow body, and just aquired a 60 tele that someone ruined by "updating and refinishing", it does sound sweet though, trying to decide if I want to put it back the way it came but, I don't care what it's worth and I like it the way it is...................Glad to be here...Steve

Steve,
I'm originally from Indiana- orange county; grew up there. good to see you here. My condolences regarding your son. Since he is not here to thank for his service- accept mine on his behalf, will ya? Learning to play a guitar is one of the most rewarding things I have done. I am just learning myself- been playing about 3-4 years now. I practice every day and picking it up fast. There is nothing quite like soothing yourself with your own music- best therapy ever. It's instant gratification. Stick with it; you will find great solace in the guitar...especially a Telecaster!!! Travis.
