Fender vs. Gibson :-)
Brand new CS Thinline Relic vs. 1947 Gibson L7 : Elevator music ...
Re-strung my CS Thinline with 0.011 flatwounds (Thomastik Infeld) the other day, and had some fun ... Basically just me "trading leads" with myself over a standard 1-6-2-5 pattern in C. Rhythm & "first lead" guitar is my Thinline recorded straight into my Boss BR-864 using the JC-120 clean patch. "Second lead" (starting at 0:36) is my 1947 Gibson L-7 recorded using a Sontronics STC-2 mic through a Art Tube MP into the BR-864.

He he ... hmm ... :
Playability : Draw Sound : Draw Comfort : I'd say the Fender has a slight edge here. (size & shape ...) Mojo : Gibson Bragging factor : Gibson Versatility : Fender.

I'm with roadkillbill - like it all! Nice tone, and very nice playing! I happen to be one of those who believes a lot of the tone is in the fingers and you make em both sound fine.
How do you like the TI flatwounds? |

I love the TI flatwounds ! I use them on both my archtops, my acoustic bass (Cort fretless) and, now, on my Thinline ! Smooth feel, and nice soft sound ! /J
