Wow - Waylon, then Satch...what's next -sweet. BTW, what pedals are you using on the Strat, there's some delay for sure...

Speaking of Satch...I said it before and I'll say it again Arlo West would not be out of place at all in that big G3 jam at the end of the show. Man! You could really show Yngwie Malmsteen what playing with soul is all about! |

Thanks everyone I have been so darn busy at work lately little time for the forum.
The tones are inside the Line 6 Flextone III XL no pedals at all except that great big controller that goes with the amp. David Gilmour is one of my all time favorite guitarists and this song is a little reflection of the Gilmour influence in me. Got some more stuff coming soon if I can get caught up with all these cases. Arlo Now listening to Gentle Giant "Strange Ways" god them guys are good! |

Very pretty (and scary!) stuff Arlo- You tell a whole story there without having to say a word.

Have you guys ever heard the story of how SRV got the deep reverb in the song Tin Pan Alley? He recorded his guitar sound by placing his amp in the hallway out back of the Dallas Sound Lab. That hallway is incredibly long I mean it is like a parking lot length! They took a couple mics and put them as far away from the amp as they could. One at each end or near the end. The amp was in the center of the hallway. The natural ambient verb in that hall is what you hear his Strat playing in on that song. A little reverb trivia for you. I have been making albums at the sound lab for years and I remember hearing a lot of SRV stories. That one always fascinated me. |

[QUOTE=Arlo;

Not like I'm telling you saavy guys anything you don't know but...of course at that time in recording history many of the "common" effects had to be cobbled together on the spot as inspiration dictated. "Alright you groovy cats...break out the duct tape and bailing wire...I feel inspired!" |
