Ice Fog Inside

Would appreciate if you guys would critique this mix. The good the bad the ugly all comments welcome. Critique the mix not the guitar playing cause I already know it sucks.

Oh man, StuH, the guitar playing was not sucking in the least.

I thoroughly enjoyed this clip. I'm glad I stumbled across it, 'cause I hear some tones that I've been looking for. Care to reveal your set-up?

I think atmospheric arrangements can easily turn boring and wimpy, but you've succeeded in making this interesting by having certain bits & pieces reveal themselves over time. Nicely done, you should be proud. Will you be adding "real" drums, or will you keep the electronic percussion all the way through? It would be cool if you added real sounding drums at around 0:58.

Sounds good to my ears. The acoustic might be a bit on the trebly side, but it kind of works with the rest of the mix.

Well I'm glad you liked it and appreciate your comments.

There's quite a few guitar tracks going on there. Yamaha APX6a (piezo) for the acoustic parts and a Tele HS for the electric parts switched to the humbucker position. I do everything direct to pc, no amps and no mics.

Mostly a Boss GT 8 mfx pedal except for one track (the really soft electric rift) using Guitar Rig 2 (software plugin). All the electric tracks were done with included presets with no tweaking. The acoustic was done with a homemade preset. The sound quality of the Boss GT 8 has really impressed me and Guitar Rig 2 is a real good tool.

I've posted the tune on Cakewalk forums and everyone suggested the same as you. All my drum stuff is geared towards electronica but I'm going to be expanding soon so I'll beef the drums up and the EQing has to be re-evaluated.
