Psychedele-tele

Here's a new thing I've come up with. It features my ovation acoustic-elec on rhythm, my tele for the lead, and my frankenstein squire bullet with tele pickups for minor fills. I think it's kind of trippy.

I don't' get in here very often and I'm just catchin' up on all the stuff posted. I can't believe no one else has replied to this!! Great stuff man!!! I'm just getting into recording myself and have quickly discovered how difficult it is to get good quality recordings. And then there is the part about playing good stuff as well.

Keep up the good work and keep posting your stuff!!

Sounds Great! Good recording skills.
If you don't mind me asking, what did you use for the drum tracks?

I used the on-board midi drums available in Cakewalk Software. I don't have a midi controller, though. I have to pull up a staff, set it for percussion, and then point and click each beat on to the staff. It's a very tedious process, although the copy and paste functions take a lot of the work out of it. Then the computer plays what I have written using the soundcard's synth. That is how I did the bass lines also. After I have midi tracks, I record them as wave files onto an open track. Then I can add reverb to make them sound more natural.

Thanks for the compliment, by the way. Hearing that someone likes my stuff makes it all the more worthwhile!

I've been doing pretty much the same recently but with Sony Acid (pieceing together drum tracks a beat at a time). Before that I used a Yamaha drum machine. I got lots of premade drum loops for Sony Acid, but still end up doing it a beat at a time mostly. Yes it is tedious.
Anyway, knowing how you did it impressed me even more as the drums sound pretty natural.

I've found that a little reverb goes a long way. Also, not making the drums too loud in the mix helps. I do everything I can to hide their machine-like qualities, but it's hard to hide the fact that the time is always perfect.

Good stuff. I like the panning of the lead around the 2:30 mark. I might have to try that sometime. I'm still trying to get a handle on my recording setup.

Thanks. I was trying to get all Hendrix-y. I was afraid it might be too over-the-top.
