Interesting mix of traditional and over-the-top.
You got good stuff, kid.
Not quite what my 45-year-old ears are accustomed to, but it's cool.

Well. first off, you don't need to be sorry you're a shredder!!!!
Not a thing wrong w/having a buttload of technical ability, which you definitely have.

You're at an interesting age, especially w/your abilities. I've listened to the tune twice now & even at breakneck speed, you are extremely clean. The only constructive criticism I could give here is let your solos build up a little more. You blew the wad in the 1st 5-6 measures & after that, you had nowhere to go except for more speed. Start a solo out lyrically & play around w/a melody that isn't too technical, then elaborate on that some, etc etc....before you know it, you've taken the listener on a ride that is everything from beautiful to in your face.

Really liked the tune & look forward to hearing more!!!

yeah, i was thinking that too. its a weird thing to do when the whole song kinda comes to you in about 20 minutes. do most people do the song then let it sit for a while to gather ideas??

The best I can think to tell you to do is this.....

You got the shred thing down cold. Your dexterity is astounding. Now you need to listen to some Santana....or Larry Carlton....or Jeff Beck...guys that can rip, but don't...until it's time.

An EXCELLENT example is a cd by Steve Lukather & Larry Carlton called "NO Substitutions". It's a live cd recorded on their tour together a few yrs back. The solos that these guy do off the cuff are just amazing. There are places in each of their improvisations that are so lyrical & melodic, you could make a pop song out of em. Then they build...slowly...til you're at the point that they are just smoking.
