Really cool Funk/Blues Backing Track!

This was a Backing Track created by RedAnt over at The Gear Page that everyone has been taking a crack at. I don't even do this kind of styled stuff much, but the track was so cool I had to take a swing at it. Thought I'd share the link if anyone is interested. There are a few others with Tele's that posted there takes as well in the thread. Used my '95 MIM Fat Tele with a Lil 59 in the bridge that also sports a Callaham bridge and brass saddles. Sorry guys, but for ease of late night home tracking, I used my PODxt fed into a tube stereo signal buffer by www.RedIronAmps.com then into ProTools.

Anyways here's my take...

Here's the thread if you wanna download the track and have at it yourself or just practice to it...

Thanks for lookin!

I loved this backing--thanks for pointing it out!

I really enjoyed your take, I.O.N. Great feel and tasty note choices all around. I loved that one ascending scale of trilled notes--great tension and release device.

Here's my take on it, which I used as an example for a couple friends at TFF to show the differences between the Fulltone OCD and Fulldrive II.

Herringbone pedal test

There are two tracks of guitar here, both done as first-takes to keep them raw (if complete with mistakes). I recorded them both all the way through, then automated the mix to mute one or the other about every 8 bars. There are a couple times when I left them both on just for fun.

The OCD track is panned mostly left and the FD2 track is panned mostly right. The guitar is my American Dlx Tele, split stereo by a Boss DD-3 into a DRRI and a Yamaha G100-112. There's a bit of extra echo on the FD2 track from a second DD-3.
