"Can I" maybe Rock, maybe Alt something...

O.K. we're just getting some "decent" stuff done. We are currently recording in a cinder block basement with little room treatment to speak of. I don't really know what genre to put it in for fear of turning some people off before they hear it, so if you have comments on the genre feel free to tell me. We're recording through a peavey mixer into a Maudio USB pre into Cakewalk home studio using some cheap CAD drum mics, a Samson CO3, sm57, and an MXL for the vox. My gear personally is a MIJ Esquire into a BDRI with an SD alnico pro 2 in the bridge and an unknown pup in the front. I'm posting 2 links they're just 2 mixes of the same song, ver 1.2 has some eq and maybe reverb added, I hope this is cool to post 2, I'll take feedback on either, but if you can listen to both that's cool too ...thanks in advance

Can I ver 1.1

Can I ver 1.2

Sounds groovy. Nice tune, playing, tone & excellent vox.

Well done.

The above is true, but it needs another guitar -- perhaps something thick and somewhat distorted playing riffs and lead lines. As it stands, the guitar on the left channel might as well not be there. Not that it needs to go. It just needs a heavier, riffing friend. Also, the bass needs to come up in the mix.
