Classic #3: Copperhead Road

Keeping up with the classic collection......

This was something a little in left wing for me.
There's more Tele tracks in here than you can shake a stick at. Actually, about 8 Tele tracks.

I still couldn't help but add a bit of country-ish twang without detracting from the original too much.

Recreating this old masterpiece from scratch was a CHORE. Mandolin, Acoustic, electrics, you name it - it's in there.

I recognize that re-making this song is dangerous territory, being such a masterful original.
But, I figured - what the heck. Just for fun, in between real projects.

Cheers,

Shawn

Terrific, Shawn!

Of course, to me that drone-y sound is just crying out for a Cajun-y fiddle part with some open-string drones!

What is the instrument at the very start that sounds like a bagpipe?

Oooohhh you might be on to something there!
Indeed that would work well - I can hear it in my head -

Should I assume that by your screen name that you are a fiddler?

If so, maybe you could put down some fiddle tracks on it!

Cheers,

Shawn
