Unemployed, available, reaching out...

Hi! I am looking to join or help out a band or solo artist, be a sideman, session player, stagehand, roadie, review gear, sell guitars...anything music. I am reliable, easy going and willing to work hard. I will also travel or move for a decent music related job.

I would like to ask you to comment on my videos, share them, like them on Facebook, add me to your „friends" and contacts, spread the word. All help is appreciated.

Not sure if this is the right section to post this, I just felt it doesn't really fit into 'Twanger Central' here since this is less about my music and more about reaching out. Some attention sure won't hurt, but I don't mean to cause any inconvenience round here, so feel free to move it accordingly. Thanks for checking this out.

Well, it might be a little more helpful if we knew where you were...

Do you read music? All clefs? Can you do arrangements?

Can you sight-read? Can you sight-read jazz rhythm charts? Can you read scores?

LOL...you're right. Sorry about that. I'm currently located in Europe but they have planes, trains and automobiles there too, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Just very basic music theory, in like being able to improvise and click with a band, not capable of playing note by note from sheet though. I can not read music, but I can compose, arrange and (re-)produce it regardless.

Since the feedback is quite underwhelming so far I take it I'm probably doing something wrong. So here I am sticking my nose out one more time as all advice and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Websites with quality sample recordings seem to be a key first step for finding gigs. Next is networking- especially with friends and musicians that you have played with before. In my experiences "word of mouth" recomendations and audition opportunities have gotten me the most gigs.

Persistence is the best tool in every endeavor, even more than passion or ability.

Don't give up and realize that whatever job you land in music, if you truly love music then you are a step ahead of most people who simply go to work to pay bills but have no interest in their job otherwise. Anyway, good luck in your search.

Are you thinking of the US ?, be aware you can't just turn up at the airport and expect to be able to work, elsewhere in Europe of course it's a lot easier - good luck with the hunt :)

Sort of echoing Big John ...
I work with quite a few Euro transplants here in L.A. Mostly drummers and bass players.
They all 'read' like brother truckers if you catch my drift. It's really the only way a total unknown can really break into the scene and make a living.
